I have many recurring tasks that I use every day. Often I add notes for that day's recurrence. Usually, the notes apply only to that day and I don't want the notes to be part of the "master" recurring task.
I'd like to be able to make a recurring "master" task that doesn't get updated when I add notes to a recurring task. That way, when I add notes to the task and save it, the master stays unchanged. So when I check off the recurring task as done, the notes I added for that day will only be present for that day and not for all future recurrences.
If I want to update all future recurring tasks (e.g. add a note that all future recurrences should have) then I should be able to edit the "master recurring task".
My current workaround is to check off the recurring task as "done" so that a copy is made. Then I uncheck the task to undone and start editing it.
A while ago I made the suggestion of resetting the "Actual time" field for a recurring task. This would also work well with the concept of a master recurring task. I could update the Actual time field, add notes, even change categories and it would not affect the master (unless, of course, I edited the master recurring task). _________________ -- Misha
