Checklist format – Defining a typical way for project development

When you are going to start a new project, choosing the right checklist format should be one of your first tasks to organize the project. Managing your project with help of documents allows you to avoid clutter and carefully plan even the smallest tasks while following common idea of the project. Advanced project management software lets you select needed format and export your checklists and templates to popular applications, such as MS Excel, MS Word, and others.

Using default format for project planning allows you to keep your project to standardized workflows and processes. Checklists will help you define a typical way for your project’s development – this means you and your project team can follow a predefined scheme of doing tasks when stepping through the project lifecycle. In project management software you can use tools that help you define desired formats as well as create checklists and templates in your own manner. For example, when planning for a meeting, obviously it is convenient to create a meeting agenda in Word format. But when you plan for a presentation you may need to use a presentation preparing template in PowerPoint file format.
