| " Although I use Microsoft Outlook I found that
the task tracking in your software has a better view and layout than Outlook. I like
the way that icons can be used for different categories, and the different colours
that are used in the main task list make it easier to get an overall
picture of outstanding issues." |

Daily to do list and Weekly to do list - how to handle and coordinate them
|
Building daily to do list is an elementary action for every person who aims to become organized, as well as starting of new day with morning to do list review. Your daily to do list is a plan of how you are going to use your time today, however if you want to make your planning more comprehensive and really consistent you should also create weekly to do list. You need to consider weekly to do list not just as a long to-do list for the whole week, but rather as general plan for the week. List of to do during the week is your strategic guidance, that describes objectives which you should achieve. And to do today list is intended to describe your practical steps. Your list of to do for day can be divided into time-oriented way (for example: morning to do list, list of to do for the evening etc.) or in context-oriented way (list of to do in the bank, list of to do in the shop etc.). Consecution of tasks mentioned in to do today list should guide you to realization of goals stated in weekly to do list. |
Let's consider facts about daily to do list and weekly to do list:
- Weekly to do list should outline your goals, priorities and main activities for the week and each daily list of to do should be built according to weekly to do list.
- Remember that purpose of weekly to do list is to keep you on the right course with your goals during the whole week, and to do today list explains how you are going to attain these goals.
- In your weekly to do list you should perform time budgeting for each day - determine how much time you have for work and for rest.
- Weekly to do list shouldn't be a detailed long to-do list that includes all your tasks and appointments. Detailed displaying of tasks is the purpose of daily to do list.
- Create detailed list of to do in order to achieve each of goals outlined in your weekly to do list, and then you should include these tasks into your daily to do lists with highest priority.
- Make morning to do list reviews in order to study your daily priorities. Each to do today list should include tasks that you must concentrate on and perform during one day, but your daily priorities must be oriented at attainment of weekly goals.
- Include important activities into your weekly to do list and allocate them by portions among your daily to do lists.
- Weekly to do list can be a part of monthly plan. (as well as daily to do list is a part of weekly to do list).
