Successful project management helps ensure your projects will be completed in an efficient manner - on schedule, on budget, producing expected benefits, and within the determined scope and size. Project sizing allows determining the relative size of project efforts. Such parameter as project size is used to determine boundaries to which current projects will formally extend.

Project size is an estimated or actual number of effective effort hours required to deliver a product through all the project stages, from setting requirements to installation. Project sizing software allows setting project size and defining basic parameters to run projects. Depending on project size (i.e. scheduled effort hours), all projects can be divided into small projects (under 2000 effort hours), medium projects (between 2001 and 10,000 effort hours), and large projects (over 10,000 effort hours). When initiating a new project, you should consider these differences in project size.
Project sizing software allows setting and using project sizing variables such as Project duration, Project cost and Project resources (a number of team members).
